چکیده

This study aimed to investigate the effects of sumac fruit powder (SFP; Rhus coriaria L.) supplementation on productive performance, egg quality traits and serum biochemical parameters in old laying hens. One-hundred-twenty, 54 weeks Hy-line W36 strain-laying hens were assigned three treatments, five replicates eight per replicate a completely randomised design. Experimental diets included: (1) Control (C) without SFP supplementation, (2) 0.25% (3) 0.5% supplemented diet. The experimental fed for 8 weeks. results showed that production rate (EPR) mass (EM) significantly reduced, FCR increased group compared control (p < .05). During first period (0–4 weeks), yolk percentage (YP), Yolk height (YH) index (YI) reduced by supplementation; however, during both periods 4–8 pH as second (4–8 Haugh unit (HU), YH density (ED) groups However, albumen was groups; but, YI only birds with analysis total antioxidant capacity (TAC) malondialdehyde (MDA) triglyceride, cholesterol VLDL content Also, triglyceride significant reduction through In conclusion, hens’ diet could reduce triglycerides levels increase status Nevertheless, it might have negative impacts performance.HighlightsSumac (SFP) can be used potential alternative antibiotics synthetic antioxidants.SFP interrupting lipid absorbance.SFP performance due reducing blood and, subsequently, lipids levels, especially triglyceride.
